NVQ's

NVQ stands for National Vocational Qualification.
A vocational qualification is one where assessment is related to work. Candidates will be assessed on aspects of their work during normal day to day routines and tasks. The assessor will compare the candidate’s performance against set standards and this will assist in determining whether they are competent in their work.
Discovery Childcare Training are able to offer the Children's Care, Learning & Development NVQ's at levels 2 and 3.

Level 2
The Level 2 qualification is intended for those people working in an assistant’s role. It is an approved qualification that enables you to work in any early years setting under supervision.
For successful completion of the level 2 qualification you will be required to complete six mandatory units and choose another one from a list of options. The following outlines the unit titles of the mandatory units:
CCLD 201 - Contribute to positive relationships
CCLD 202 - Help to Keep Children Safe
CCLD 203 - Support Children's Development
CCLD 204 - Use Support To Develop Own Practice In Children's Care, Learning & Development
CCLD 205 - Prepare & Maintain Environments to Meet Children's Needs
CCLD 206 - Support Children's Play & Learning


Level 3
The level 3 qualification is intended for those people working at supervisory level within their setting. You should have a certain amount of autonomy and be able to plan and implement activities for those in your care.
For successful completion of the level 3 qualification you will be required to complete five mandatory units and four additional optional units from a wide choice. The following outlines the unit titles of the mandatory units:
CCLD 301 - Develop & Promote Positive Relationships
CCLD 302 - Develop & Maintain a Healthy, Safe & Secure Environment For Children
CCLD 303 - Promote Children's Development
CCLD 304 - Reflect On & Develop Practice
CCLD 305 - Protect & Promote Children's Rights


ASSESSOR AWARD S (A1 & A2)
If you have at least three years post qualifying experience in childcare or related fields and you feel the time is right to pass on some of your knowledge and experience to others, why not qualify as an assessor?
